Welcome to the Beginner's Guide to Pantheon! This guide is aimed at people who are not only new to Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen, but new to massively multiplayer online roleplaying games (MMORPGs) in general. This guide will include links to other pages on the wiki that will help you along your journey. __TOC__ ==Useful Links== First, some quick links that are very useful while you're starting out: :::# Pantheon Terminology. This is a categorized list of Pantheon AND general MMORPG terms. Curious what this or that abbreviation means? Check it out! :::# Mechanics. This page contains many of Pantheon's gameplay mechanics that don't have dedicated pages of their own. :::# Casting Glossary. This page details the mechanics behind Casting (using abilities or spells). It also contains terms and abbreviations. :::# :Category:Gameplay Mechanic. This is the master category for all pages related to game mechanics. :::# User Interface. This page lists every element of the UI with images to help guide you visually. ==Gameplay Mechanics Explained== Many of Pantheon's gameplay mechanics have their own dedicated pages, while some of the more obscure ones are collected on a single page. In the following section, we will name and briefly describe gameplay mechanics and also link you to the pages which go into greater depth than this article can. ::: Death is a gameplay mechanic that occurs when your character's Health Points reach 0. You suffer penalties and may choose to respawn at your bind point (see Bind Point.) Your character keeps all of their worn equipment, but you must return to your corpse to retrieve your general inventory (this is your currency, as well as your inventory of bags and items). You can negate some of the penalties of death by being resurrected by one of the three Healer classes (see Resurrection.) If you trust another player, you can consent to them moving your body (see Consent (Corpse Dragging).) ::: Consent (Corpse Dragging) is a sub-mechanic to Death. If you trust another player, you can consent to them moving your corpse. This can allow the player to move your corpse to somewhere more accessible for you, or they could bring your corpse to a Healer for a resurrection (see Resurrection.) You can revoke consent at anytime, which immediately stops the player from moving your body, leaving it wherever it was when you revoked consent. Be careful to only consent players you trust! A mischievous player can make it even more difficult for you to get your items back. ::: Resurrection is a sub-mechanic to Death. Each of the three Healer classes can resurrect a dead player, restoring a portion of the EXP they lost and returning them to their corpse. There is no difference between the resurrection abilities in regards to how much lost EXP is restored. ==Chat Channels== Chat channels are how you communicate with others in Pantheon. Each chat channel serves a different function. Below, you'll see a list of all chat channels and their purpose. {| class="wikitable" !Channel Name !Command(s) !Description !Default Color |- |Say |/say, /s |Text sent through this chat channel is visible to every PC within a certain distance of the speaker. Say is the channel used primarily with NPCs. |White. |- |Shout |/shout |Text sent through this chat channel is visible to every PC within the same zone as the speaker. It functions the same as the Out of Character text channel. However, as a courtesy, it should be used only in important cases (e.g, you're announcing a train to a zone line), and not for advertising wares, etc. |Red |- |Out of Character |/ooc |Text sent through this chat channel is visible to every PC within the same zone as the speaker. It functions the same as the Shout channel. It is the most common form of communication between players who aren't grouped or in the same guild. Frequently used by players advertising wares or that they are looking for group. |Green |}
